It is up to you to check your local codes to determine if you are allowed to install a stairlift yourself or if you are required by local codes to use a licensed company to do the installation.
We know that self-installation is not allowed in the following states: Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Washington and Oregon.
Compliance with codes is very important to us, so we will not ship stairlifts or dumbwaiters to these states in respect of local codes. We will be happy to connect you with a local dealer who can do the installation and permitting for you.
